About the commission

A healthier Delta starts with all of us.

The DSCHC regulates, supervises, implements and ensures effective administration of the mandatory Delta State Contributory Health Scheme for residents of the State.

The law establishing the Commission was signed on 4 February 2016 after legislative passage in December 2015, creating the Commission, the Scheme and connected governance structures.

Formal

Formal Health Plan

Premiums are paid through payroll percentage deductions and cover a principal enrollee, spouse and four children below 18 years, with counterpart employer contribution.

Informal

Informal Health Plan

Individual residents can subscribe annually. The current official public-site premium states NGN 7,000 per enrollee per year for informal coverage.

Equity

Equity Health Plan

For vulnerable groups including pregnant women, children under 5, elderly residents above 65, persons with disabilities and residents classified as poor.

Private

Private Health Plan

For individuals who subscribe to additional premium options for enhanced healthcare service needs under the DSCHS.

NIN-standard registration and accountable payments.

DSCHC has implemented the Basic Health Care Provision Fund programme in Delta State with NIMC National Identity Number standard registration, accredited facility service delivery, provider payment, monitoring, evaluation and analytics.

The Commission states that it is the only State Health Insurance Agency approved to register and directly obtain NIN through API, and is listed by NITDA as compliant with NDPR requirements for national data storage and management.

How to register

Multiple enrolment channels for residents.

Residents can register at the DSCHC Head Office, liaison offices at the 25 LGA headquarters, through branded DSCHC field registration agents, or with the DSCHC Android mobile app.
